Healthy Eating: Growing Your Own Produce Affordably, All Year Long (Pt. 1)

Eating fresh, organic whole vegetables and produce are without a doubt, one of the BEST ways to manage your health all year round, but as we all know, the colder months in Colorado don't allow for year-round gardening efforts, but there are still ways that you can grow your own produce inside your home. We found several tutorials at NaturalLivingIdeas.com. While some of them don't necessarily translate to food, they all mean less wastefulness, which is awesome. We are going to start experimenting with some of them ourselves--we will keep you updated on our progress with pictures and tips on how to make it work best in the typical Denver home.

The first one we are going to try is "How to Grow Green Onions Indefinitely." Time to do some mythbusting. Try it for yourselves, and let us know what you find!

The second one we are taking on is the sweet potato--this one you start in your home in the winter and plant outside in the spring! Hopefully by this time next year we will be able to share a nice sweet potato pie recipe with you all that we've made from our home grown roots! Stay tuned for progress on these projects and more...
