Spinal compression happens to all of us everyday as we walk around and gravity compacts the vertebra in our back. For runners, this process is greatly accelerated. Symptoms include back pain and pain throughout other parts of the body. A pinched nerve has the ability to restrict movement and cause extreme pain, as well as degeneration in other joints throughout the body. Regular spinal adjustments can ensure that the spine regularly returns to its natural state and that the soft tissue does not form around misalignments, which over time makes corrections more difficult to achieve. These misalignments can caused pinched nerves and other symptoms throughout the body, therefore it is integral that runners get regular spinal adjustments.
Sciatica is defined as pain affecting the back, hip, and outer side of the leg, caused by compression of a spinal nerve root in the lower back, often owing to degeneration of an intervertebral disk. Misalignments in the lower lumbar, sacral or pelvic areas could be to blame, or foot problems like pronation, flat foot or a short leg could all be to blame--and all can be treated at our office.
Caused by repetitive motion, and overuse. Pain along the back of the ankle and popping noises are typical symptoms of this problem. There are many ways this problem might be treated. This is caused by a tightening of the piriformis muscle, which is in the lower back. Symptoms include lower back pain and shooting pain down the back of the leg. This is usually caused by a misalignment in the lower back or pelvis. Spinal adjustment, pelvic adjustment or custom orthotics can all help treat this problem.
This is caused by the overextension of one's inner thigh muscles. Symptoms are similar to those of a hernia. A spinal adjustment or a pelvic adjustments are common treatments for this problem.
Iliotibial (IT) Band Syndrome:
IT band syndrome is caused by a misalignment in the hip--but usually symptoms manifest as knee pain, proving once again, that skeletal misalignments can cause symptoms and pain in other areas in the body than where the actual problem exists.
This is the inflammation of the ligament that runs along the bottom of one's foot. Pain in the bottom of the heel is the most common symptom. This may be sourced to a misalignment in the spine, in a joint within the leg or pronation issues, so a spinal adjustment, an extremity adjustment or custom orthotics could all be the remedy, depending on the source of the problem.
