Lacrosse season is in full swing again! The Denver Outlaws are Denver's professional outdoor lacrosse team, and they all count on Dr. Dave to keep them at their best. The 2014 season has already gotten off to a smashing start--we are 3-0. No doubt, expectations are fairly high for this team after their successful 2013 year, when their perfect regular season ended in an upset at in the Major League Lacrosse Semi-Finals to the Charlotte Hounds. Winning their first home game at Sports Authority at Mile High on May 4th with a score of 14-12, the stage has been set again for another amazing season, and we couldn't be more excited!
So how does chiropractic treatment help professional athletes like the Denver Outlaws? Dr. Shapiro is in the locker room before every home game administering those spinal and extremity adjustments, which helps players improve performance, reduce risk of injury and extend the lives of their careers. "Once the game starts, I rarely have to do adjustments," he says. "For athletes, it's more about performance and function than back pain." Through simple muscle strength tests, Dr. Dave can find misaligned joints, and, of course, adjust them--because misaligned joints not only cause weakness, but they can also cause pain and lead to injury.
Dr. Dave, indeed, has high hopes for the 2014 season. "I have great expectations--I think everyone does after their undefeated season last year." He also says that fans should keep an eye on player John Grant Jr.--the new addition to the Outlaws is actually a seasoned vet having played in professional lacrosse since 1995 and also being the captain of the Colorado Mammoth, Denver's indoor professional lacrosse team.
