The video above is from the Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky which completed at year long study, funded by the American Cancer Association. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of JSJ to ease the stress and side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

and learn more about Jin Shin Jyutsu:
Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ)
is an energetic healing practice, which shares its ancient roots with acupuncture and acupressure, but does not use needling or pressure.
JSJ works with the energy systems of the body. Through mental and emotional stresses, physical trauma, incorrect diet, and environmental toxins these energy systems can become blocked. Once blocked any number of physical and/or emotional discomforts can develop.
JSJ through gentle fingertip contact on specific points of the body reopens these energy systems allowing the body's own regenerative powers to rebuild and/or correct problem areas. Feelings of deep relaxation, clearer thinking, reduced anxiety and depression, physical relief and restful sleep at night are experienced.
Treating the whole person
Because in JSJ the mental, emotional and physical aspects of a person are treated as a whole, it is not uncommon to see a range of positive benefits emerging. For example, a young women I had worked with had cerebral palsy and used platform crutches: after receiving regular JSJ sessions she experienced less spasticity, greater range of motion, lessening tension/pain in her neck, and was able to get around the house without her crutches. She experienced greater energy to the point, "I picked up my apartment - I have never done this before!" And, feeling "My life is under control".
How many sessions and how frequently?
Because JSJ works to harmonize the deepest cause of our uncomfortable symptoms, this journey is not a "quick fix" and frequently takes time. Usually chronic conditions benefit most from regular sessions over a period of time. Acute discomforts and critical conditions can be treated daily or even twice per day.
Sometimes quick and dramatic results are witnessed. For example, a woman with Guillian-Barre Syndrome and post-thyroid radiation side effects: her discomforts were salvia gland not secreting, painful feet ("pins and needles" sensations) and having to ice her feet 4-5 times at night to lessen the pain. Within 3 sessions the pain in her feet was nearly gone. She began "sleeping the entire night" and "waking refreshed". And, her saliva glands began functioning once again.
In my practice I have seen harmony come to many conditions including: appetite imbalances, fatigue, depression, fear and anxiety, constipation, chronic hiccups, insomnia, bi-polar disorder, and many problems that are worsened by stress. I have also seen healthy people receive support for clearer thinking and improved abilities to handle the stresses of everyday living.
End of Life
For those who are terminally ill and facing the end of their lives JSJ can help lessen the physical pain and discomforts and help ease the associated mental and emotional anxieties -- providing a level of inner peace.
There are no contraindications for JSJ – there are no side effects.
Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioners can be found working in hospitals and clinics in conjunction with physicians, acupuncturists, psychotherapists and psychologists, and within hospice programs.
